About Me

Uhmm about me? erm where do I start? At the beginning you said? OK!

But do your really want me to start at the beginning? I mean I don’t know much about it as I was a new born baby then :P – Mind you who wants to relive that experience eh! lol you’ve only just come into the world and what happens? Smack on your back side so just the doctor can be sure you are alive” I mean whats up with that?

Lol OK enough deviations. I’ll get on with it :)

Well the beginning started in 1970 when I was born to an Indian family residing in East Africa, Tanzania (Then known as Tanganyika). I grew up with my uncles mainly away from my siblings (2 sisters and 2 brothers – am the baby :D ).

Moved to the UK at the end of January 1982 and here I remained to this day – well with a few trips back to Tanzania and India! I studied in Birmingham where we had settled following our arrival. School days were fun, miss them days. I did pretty good if I may say so considering the only words of English I knew then were “Yes” and “No” :P

After school I went to college and like most other youngsters around that time I took up Computer studies and electronics – didn’t like the college that much so I opted for the then Youth Training Scheme (YTS) and went on to achieve City and Guilds in Computers and Electronics respectively. I then went back to college to finish of my B Tech national in computer studies and was awarded the Cambridge Certificate in Information Technology :) Pretty good for a freshi eh ;)

Then came the turning point in my adulthood life – looking forward to moving on to university my dad had other plans! Off to India I was whisked and on 1st of August 1988 at the tender age of 18 I was married. With the responsibility of a wife to bring over to the UK, I came back and started looking for work.

My first job was with an electronic circuit board manufacture and my duties were to over see the board plating line! Oh I hated that job – mainly because of the fumes them acids gave off. A year letter I had earned and save enough to be able to apply for my wife to come over and by December of 1989 I achieved the first goal I ever set myself.

It was time to move on and using my computer skills and office work experience gained at IBM I applied for a job as a casual at the Inland Revenue and found myself shifting papers for the next 6 weeks. Taking that experience I went on to work at the then DSS (Benefit Agency) where I did pretty good. Having started as a casual employee was made permanent after 6 weeks and promoted after 6 months :) . I spent the next 6 years in the same job!

After a short break off work and sorting a few family issues I was back to being a civil servant, this time with the Independent Tribunal Services where I worked for the next 2 years until family issues once again forced me to give up work. With the break this time came the passion for being my own boss, I was tired of working for someone else. I did a stint of building PCs which were hot property then and sold them on for a nice profit. I then went on to be a shopkeeper for a year.

Now here come the twist in my working career. You would think with all the above experience I would actually set up in business in the same line right? Well I had to be different – I turned to one of my passion DIY and became self-employed as a handyman :D – Once again I did pretty good and was making a decent amount of income from it.

But fate has to play its part and once again family issues put an end to what seemed a good future! Following separation my marriage ended in divorce a couple years earlier – by July 2005 my ex remarried and I was left holding the baby so to speak!

As I write this I can safely say I have had the best years with my kids these past 4/5 years and wouldn’t change it for the world :) . If anything good has come out of it is the time I get to spend with my family. The free time also brought an added bonus.

For the past 8 months I have been working on building an online business and I am at my last stages now before I fully launch myself head over heels into it. I have spent time studying and researching my niches and putting a few things in place. Although I have launched a few websites as a tester I am yet to finalise the business model – but am almost there :)

So what is it that I (intend to) do? Well I have two avenues that are pretty much finalised and I am testing a 3rd one. I have my heart set on affiliate marketing together with web hosting and have the mechanism in place for both. My 3rd venture is geared towards blog installation service and related services. This pretty much ties in with web hosting and the affiliate marketing ventures I am planning – so fingers crossed and full steam ahead! World Wide Web, here I come :)
